Feel the heat from data in the world’s first data-driven sauna. By utilising excess heat from data centre servers together with the latest technology, sauna goers can muster up a good sweat when people all around the world are surfing the web, searching databases and using cloud services. The Finnish-Swedish company Tieto stays true to the legacy of the sauna tradition and never misses an opportunity to slip out of the costume and into the sauna. On April 1st, the company will inaugurate the world´s first data-driven saunas at their Nordic data centres in Stockholm, Helsinki and Stavanger. The sauna named AiSauna is launched in connection with Finland´s 100-year anniversary which is celebrated throughout the year 2017. “The amount of data stored and processed in our data centres increases rapidly. PITTSBURGH, PA Two websites Elliance created for their higher
education clients recently earned top awards from the Interactive
Media Awards (IMA).
The Best in Class IMA in the University category was awarded for the
redesign of University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business
and Economics (http://lerner.udel.edu/) website and for the redesign
of The Catholic University of America (http://www.cua.edu/) website.
Each website is evaluated against five criteria; design, content,
feature functionality, usability and standards compliance.
The IMA received more than 6,100 entries from 52 countries.
"We believe a website is a means of organizational transformation,
which is why every detail matters to us," explains Abu Noaman, CEO of
Elliance. "As brand stewards, we add to the prosperity our clients
enjoy."
Alfred Lerner College of Business acts as the most public facing
academic unit of the University of Delaware, and a direct link between
the region's corporate community and the institution. Elliance saw
this website redesign as an opportunity to transform perception, grow
enrollment, and attract high-profile faculty and research scholars.
Made up of 12 major research schools, The Catholic University of
America is held in the highest academic esteem. Through the website
redesign, Elliance sought to bring harmony and simplicity to a very
complex site hierarchy that had grown burdensome, and to elevate the
design and content of the site by bringing the new university brand
messaging – Cultivating Catholic Minds (also created by Elliance) — to
the forefront.
Through content strategy, the use of bold, vibrant images, and design
that supports and tells a bigger, fuller story, Elliance was able to
accurately represent the brand and culture of each school and create
an engaging, easy-to-navigate site for prospective students, parents,
alumni and donors.
In the past, Elliance has been awarded ten other Best in Class IMAs —
the highest honor bestowed within the award competition — across
several categories, including manufacturing, nonprofit, school,
healthcare and others.
